A subsequent visit rendered by a psychiatrist to a patient in a non-emergency, acute care hospital setting. This code applies to each visit during the first five weeks after admission. As defined in , a subsequent visit is any routine assessment in hospital following the hospital admission assessment.

• Attendance at Surgery: If a referring physician is asked by the patient to be present during surgery but does not assist, the attendance is billed as a subsequent visit.
• Multidisciplinary Care: When a patient's condition requires care from several physicians in different disciplines, each physician's visit constitutes a subsequent visit.
