This fee is payable for each additional level of posterior scoliosis correction over the six levels included in N540 (Posterior scoliosis correction - up to six levels). It is an add-on code and must be billed with N540 for each level corrected beyond the sixth.
The operative report must clearly document that more than six levels of posterior scoliosis correction were performed to justify the billing of this code for each level beyond the sixth.
