This code is payable in addition to the fee for chest wall tumour resection of 2 or 3 ribs or cartilages (M105) when a sternal resection is also performed during the same operative session.
When to Use
- Use E602 as an add-on code specifically when performing a sternal resection in conjunction with M105 (chest wall tumour resection of 2 or 3 ribs).
- Apply this code when the clinical operative report confirms that both the sternum and the specified rib/cartilage structures were resected during the same surgical session.
