Payable to the surgical assistant for assisting in the fixation of each additional rib exceeding four ribs, as an add-on to a primary rib fixation procedure such as M116. Payment is calculated by adding 6 base units to the time units for the procedure.
When to Use
- Use E604B when assisting in the surgical fixation of a 5th, 6th, or subsequent rib during a multi-rib stabilization procedure.
- Apply this code only after the primary rib fixation (M116) and the initial four ribs have been accounted for in the surgical assistant's claim.
