This fee code is an add-on to S344A (Ventral or Incisional hernia, fascial defect diameter 5 cm or greater, repaired with mesh closure). It is payable when the repair of a defect measuring between 5 cm and 10 cm in diameter involves component separation.
Documentation in the operative report must support a fascial defect size between 5 and 10 cm and that a component separation technique was performed.
