This is an add-on code to be used in conjunction with Z825 for a ventriculoscopy. It is claimed when a biopsy is performed as part of the ventriculoscopy procedure.
When to Use
- Use E916 when you perform a tissue biopsy during a ventriculoscopy procedure already billed under Z825.
- Claim this code when obtaining a diagnostic tissue sample from the ventricular wall or intraventricular lesion during an endoscopic neurosurgical procedure.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing E916 as a standalone procedure will result in an automatic rejection, as it must be linked to Z825.
