This is an add-on code payable in addition to Z442 (Selective coronary catheterization) for performing other drug interventional studies. A note specifies that this includes the injection of intracoronary nitroglycerin. This procedure is eligible for after-hours premiums as a major invasive procedure.
When to Use
- Use G263 as an add-on to Z442 when you perform an intracoronary nitroglycerin injection to assess for coronary vasospasm during a diagnostic catheterization.
- Use this code when performing other specific drug-based interventional studies that fall outside the scope of standard diagnostic coronary angiography (Z442).
