G363 – Cervical mucous penetration test
OHIP Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures Code — DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES · Schedule of Benefits
Cervical mucous penetration test.
When to Use
- Use G363 when performing a post-coital test to evaluate sperm-cervical mucus interaction as part of an infertility investigation.
- Use this code for laboratory-based assessment of sperm penetration capability in cervical mucus samples collected during the periovulatory phase.
Common Pitfalls
- Do not bill G363 in conjunction with a general office visit (A007) if the visit was solely for the purpose of performing this diagnostic procedure.
- Avoid billing G363 for routine cervical cytology or general pelvic exams, as it is strictly limited to the specific functional penetration test.
Billing Tips
- Ensure the laboratory requisition or clinical note explicitly identifies the procedure as a cervical mucous penetration test to avoid confusion with general semen analysis codes.
