The service involves the physician's interpretation and report of a continuous ambulatory electrocardiographic recording lasting from 60 hours to 13 days. Level 1 monitoring requires a device capable of recording three or more simultaneous channels, capturing all beats, and allowing for analysis and manual review of the entire recording. The system must produce graphical and quantitative reports and include a patient diary with an event marker for symptom-rhythm correlation. The physician's service culminates in a formal report of findings, opinions, and recommendations.
