L201
L201 – L201
OHIP Dermatology Code · Schedule of Benefits
When to Use
- Use L201 for the initial laboratory requisition of a complete blood count (CBC) when performed as a stand-alone service for a patient.
- Bill L201 when ordering a routine urinalysis or basic chemistry panel that is not bundled into a comprehensive assessment or procedure code.
Common Pitfalls
- Do not bill L201 in conjunction with an office visit code (A007) on the same day, as the laboratory fee is considered inclusive of the assessment.
- Avoid billing L201 for tests that are already covered under the global laboratory fee structure for specific diagnostic procedures or specialized clinics.
Billing Tips
- Ensure the laboratory requisition is clearly linked to a specific diagnostic indication to avoid rejection during Ministry audits.
