Total laryngectomy is the complete surgical removal of the larynx. Per the Schedule of Benefits, the fee for this service includes any associated laryngoscopy. Additional procedures such as E882 (thyroid lobectomy), E883 (thyroid lobectomy with isthmus and pyramidal tract excision), and E884 (total thyroidectomy) may be claimed in addition when performed.
When claiming the morbidly obese patient premium (E676), the BMI must be recorded in the patient's permanent medical record.
When claiming the trauma premium (E420), the Injury Severity Score (ISS) must be listed in the medical record.
