Newborn Care Episodic Fee. Eligible Models: FHO.
When to Use
- Use Q015A for the initial assessment and care of a newborn within the FHO model when the infant is not yet registered to your roster.
- Apply this code for episodic newborn visits occurring before the formal enrollment process is completed, provided the infant is not already rostered to another physician.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing Q015A for an infant who has already been rostered to your FHO, as this service is intended for non-rostered episodic care.
- Submitting Q015A in conjunction with a comprehensive newborn physical exam code like K030A, which may trigger a rejection for duplicate service coverage.
