Q606
Q606 – Q606
OHIP Critical Care Code · Schedule of Benefits
When to Use
- Use Q606 to bill for the completion of a mandatory Ministry of Transportation (MTO) medical report when requested by the patient or the MTO.
- Use this code for the administrative fee associated with completing the 'Driver's Medical Examination Report' when the patient is not exempt from the fee.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing Q606 in conjunction with an A007 or other office visit code is a common rejection; the MTO report is considered a non-insured service and should be billed separately to the patient.
- Attempting to bill Q606 to OHIP will result in a rejection, as this is a patient-paid service, not a claimable service under the Schedule of Benefits.
Billing Tips
- Ensure the patient is informed of the fee prior to the appointment, as Q606 is a private charge and not covered by the provincial health plan.
