R027 – Scar revision - other areas, 2.6 cm to 5 cm

Performs a surgical scar revision of any method of closure for a scar between 2.6 cm and 5.0 cm in length, located on an area of the body other than the face or neck.
Note:
• Authorization is required for all scar revisions in areas other than the face or neck (see Appendix D).
This service is eligible for anaesthesia and assistant services, with 6 base units assigned for each when billed with the appropriate suffix.

Revision of post-infection scarring of face must be claimed on an “I.C” basis - maximum payable will be as equated to R023.
