When to Use
- Use R525 for the primary repair of a simple muscle laceration where the skin closure is incidental to the muscle repair.
- Use this code when the muscle injury is superficial and does not require complex debridement or extensive reconstruction, distinguishing it from the more complex R528.

- Do not bill R525 in addition to a skin laceration repair code (e.g., S000 series), as the skin repair is considered included in the R525 fee.
