When to Use
- Use for the application of a circular external fixation device (e.g., Ilizarov or Taylor Spatial Frame) on the tibia when no osteotomy is performed.
- Use for stabilization of tibial fractures or non-unions where the primary intent is fixation rather than deformity correction requiring bone cutting.

- Billing R977 when an osteotomy is performed; if bone cutting is required, you must use R978 or R979 instead.
