Placement of an intrathoracic oesophageal stent via an oesophagoscope. The fee for this service includes the fee for oesophagoscopy (Z515), which is not separately payable.
When to Use
- Use S083 for the endoscopic placement of an intrathoracic oesophageal stent to manage malignant or benign strictures.
- Use this code when the procedure requires both the oesophagoscopy and the stent deployment, as the former is bundled into the latter.
