This service covers the second or any subsequent surgical stage required for the complete repair of an omphalocele or gastroschisis. This procedure is typically part of a multi-stage approach to correcting these complex congenital abdominal wall defects. See also S348 for primary or first stage repair. This is a surgical procedure and is eligible for surgeon (A), assistant (B), and anaesthetist (C) services. Assistant services are paid based on 7 base units plus time units.
