OHIP Other Code · Schedule of Benefits
When to Use
- Use T332 for the surgical removal of a foreign body from the cornea that requires the use of a slit lamp and instrumentation, such as a needle or burr.
- Select T332 when the procedure involves a deeper corneal foreign body that is not superficial enough to be billed under the minor removal code E005.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing T332 in conjunction with a general eye exam code (A035) is often rejected; ensure the clinical note clearly distinguishes the surgical procedure from the assessment.
- Submitting T332 for a superficial foreign body that could be removed with a cotton-tipped applicator is an audit risk, as this should be billed as E005.
Billing Tips
- If a follow-up visit is required for the same eye within the post-operative period, ensure the visit is billed with the appropriate diagnostic code and 'M' prefix if applicable to avoid automatic rejection.
