When to Use
- Use T410 for the initial consultation of a patient referred for a formal assessment of a suspected or confirmed malignancy.
- Apply this code when the patient has not been previously seen by you for the same malignancy within the preceding 12 months.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing T410 in conjunction with a minor assessment code like A007 is a common rejection; the consultation fee is intended to be comprehensive.
- Submitting T410 without a valid referring physician number or a valid referring facility code will result in an automatic rejection.
