When to Use
- Use T470 for the surgical repair of a complete rupture of the Achilles tendon when performed as an open procedure.
- Select T470 when the procedure involves primary repair of the tendon ends, distinguishing it from simple debridement or tenolysis codes like S470.

- Billing T470 in conjunction with a separate incision and drainage code for the same site will trigger a rejection for unbundling.
