This service represents a routine subsequent visit provided by a specialist in Endocrinology & Metabolism to a patient in a nursing home or home for the aged. According to the Schedule, a subsequent visit is any routine assessment following the patient's admission (:). This service is intended for ongoing care and is one of up to three subsequent visits payable per patient per month (see also W153 for the first two visits). This service is not applicable for acute intercurrent illnesses (use W121) or for emergencies requiring a special visit (use 'A' prefix codes with premiums).
