Revision of a subcutaneous venous access reservoir at the same site. This procedure involves surgically modifying or repairing a previously placed subcutaneous venous access device without creating a new site. This code is related to Z446, which is the initial insertion of the device.
When to Use
- Use Z447 for the surgical repair of a malfunctioning subcutaneous venous access device, such as fixing a dislodged or leaking catheter connection at the existing reservoir site.
- Use Z447 when performing a revision of the pocket or reservoir components that does not require the creation of a completely new venous access site or a new insertion procedure (Z446).

- Billing Z447 when the procedure actually constitutes a full removal and replacement of the entire system, which may require different coding or a combination of removal and insertion codes.
