Z575 – Haemorrhoid injections
OHIP Psychiatric Code — DIGESTIVE SYSTEM SURGICAL PROCEDURES · Schedule of Benefits
Provides for the injection treatment of haemorrhoids. This service is limited to a maximum of six times per patient, per year.
When to Use
- Use Z575 for the sclerotherapy injection of symptomatic internal haemorrhoids when non-surgical management has failed.
- Use Z575 when performing serial treatments for haemorrhoidal disease, ensuring you do not exceed the six-service annual limit per patient.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing Z575 on the same day as a counselling code will trigger an automatic rejection due to the explicit restriction in GP58.
- Attempting to bill Z575 more than six times in a rolling 12-month period will result in claim rejection or recovery during an audit.
Billing Tips
- You may bill an assessment code (e.g., A007) in addition to Z575 on the same day, provided the assessment is medically necessary and distinct from the procedure itself.
