- Do not bill Z708 in addition to a minor assessment code (A007) on the same day, as the procedure fee is intended to cover the assessment and the service.
- Avoid billing Z708 for diagnostic aspiration; if the primary intent is fluid analysis rather than therapeutic drainage, the claim may be flagged for audit.
- Ensure the patient's sex is recorded as male in the claim, as this code is strictly restricted to male genital procedures.
