This procedure involves the surgical removal of single or multiple condylomata, commonly known as genital warts, from the vulva and/or introitus. The methods used include surgical excision, electrodesiccation (electrical burning), or CO2 laser ablation. This service is performed under general anaesthetic, as indicated by the code.
All insured services must be documented in appropriate records, establishing that the service was provided, is the service submitted, and was medically necessary.
For anaesthesia services, the level determined by the anaesthesiologist at the time of the pre-operative anaesthesia assessment must be recorded in the medical record if claiming extra units for ASA physical status.
If claiming the trauma premium (E420), the medical record must list the Injury Severity Score (ISS).
