This service is for the initial or repeat probing and dilation of the nasolacrimal duct on one side, performed under local anaesthetic. It is listed in the Schedule under manipulation of the lacrimal tract.
In accordance with the Health Insurance Act and regulations, the medical record must establish that: 1. an insured service was provided; 2. the service for which the account is submitted is the service that was rendered; and 3. the service was medically necessary.
