A special visit premium payable to a surgical assistant for the first patient seen during a non-elective surgical procedure that requires the physician to travel from one location to another and results in the sacrifice of previously scheduled office hours.
The surgical procedure must be non-elective
The physician must make a previously unscheduled non-elective visit at a time when they had office visits booked with one or more patients
The booked office visits must have been delayed or cancelled due to the unscheduled visit
Must be the first patient seen on that specific special visit
Usage limits
Maximum 1 per time period

Travel premium requirements are defined on page
C988B is only eligible for payment for the first patient seen on each special visit
