A special visit premium payable for the first patient seen by a surgical assistant for a non-elective surgery commencing during the night (00:00h to 07:00h). This premium is only eligible for payment when the physician is required to travel from one location to another, as defined on page . It is payable in addition to the after-hours premium E401B. When to Use
- Use C999B when you are called into the hospital from outside the facility to assist on an emergency surgery that commences between 00:00 and 07:00.
- Apply this code as the 'first patient' premium when you travel to the hospital to assist on a non-elective case during the night shift, provided you meet the travel requirements defined in GP66.
