Special visit premium payable in addition to the first obstetrical delivery in a calendar day when the physician sacrifices office hours for the delivery. Payable only on weekdays during daytime (07:00-17:00), maximum of one per physician per calendar day (max. 1 per time period in the Special Visit Premium Table on ). See General Preamble for the definition of a special visit; C989 is also payable for transferred obstetrical patients for the first patient seen.
The time at which the special visit takes place must be documented on the medical record.
