Replacement of listed basic units when hypothermia is used by the anaesthesiologist in procedures not specifically identified as requiring hypothermia.
When to Use
- Use E002C when performing elective procedures requiring induced hypothermia that are not already designated as including hypothermia in the Schedule of Benefits.
- Apply this code when the anaesthesiologist actively manages hypothermia for neuroprotection or organ preservation in procedures where the standard anaesthesia basic units do not account for this complexity.
