E002 – Hypothermia premium (anaesthesia)

Replacement of listed basic units when hypothermia is used by the anaesthesiologist in procedures not specifically identified as requiring hypothermia.
Hypothermia must be used by the anaesthesiologist during the procedure.
The procedure must not be specifically identified in the Schedule as requiring hypothermia (e.g., R940 already includes hypothermia).
The anaesthesiologist unit fee is $15.96.
Time units are calculated based on the duration of the anaesthesia service (1 unit per 15 mins for the first hour, 2 units per 15 mins for the next 30 mins, and 3 units per 15 mins thereafter).
