This premium is payable for providing management and supervision of continuous catheter infusions for analgesia for a hospital in-patient (G247) rendered during evenings (17:00h – 24:00h) Monday to Friday or daytime and evenings on Saturday, Sunday or Holidays. This service adds 40% to the fee for G247.
When to Use
- Use E402 when performing the management and supervision of a continuous catheter infusion (G247) for an inpatient between 17:00 and 24:00 on weekdays.
- Apply E402 for G247 services rendered at any time during weekends or statutory holidays.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing E402 for G247 services performed during standard weekday business hours (08:00–17:00) will result in automatic rejection.
- Attempting to claim E402 for overnight services (00:00–07:00) is a common error; use E403 for these specific hours instead.
