This premium adds 50% to the fee for providing management and supervision of continuous catheter infusions for analgesia for a hospital in-patient (G247) when the service is rendered during the night time period, defined as 00:00h to 07:00h.
When to Use
- Use E403 when you are required to perform the management and supervision of a continuous catheter infusion (G247) specifically between the hours of 00:00 and 07:00.
- Apply this premium when an urgent adjustment or assessment of an epidural or peripheral nerve catheter infusion is necessary during the night shift for an admitted hospital patient.

- Billing E403 for services provided outside the 00:00 to 07:00 window, which will result in a rejection or audit recovery.
