G382
G382 – Supervision of chemotherapy by telephone
OHIP Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures Code — DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES · Schedule of Benefits
Monthly telephone supervision of chemotherapy, defined as the pharmacologic therapy of malignancy or autoimmune disease.
When to Use
- Use G382 when managing a patient on oral chemotherapy or immunosuppressive therapy for an autoimmune condition where no in-person visit occurs in that calendar month.
- Apply this code for monthly oversight of patients receiving home-based pharmacologic malignancy treatment that does not require a facility-based infusion visit.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing G382 in the same month as G388 will result in an automatic rejection, as G388 covers in-person supervision and is mutually exclusive.
- Attempting to bill G382 for patients on non-malignancy or non-autoimmune related medications will trigger an audit for inappropriate use of the management fee.
Billing Tips
- Ensure your billing software tracks the monthly interval strictly, as G382 is a monthly management fee and cannot be billed multiple times per calendar month regardless of the number of calls.
