G430
G430 – Radioactive phosphorus examination - posterior approach
OHIP Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures Code — DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES · Schedule of Benefits
When to Use
- Use G430 specifically for radioactive phosphorus uptake testing when the posterior approach is utilized for ocular tumor localization.
- Select G430 instead of G429 when the clinical assessment requires the posterior approach rather than the anterior approach for diagnostic accuracy.
Common Pitfalls
- Failing to apply the 50% bilateral premium when the procedure is performed on both eyes, as the system does not automatically calculate this adjustment.
- Billing G430 in conjunction with G421 or G429 for the same eye during a single session, which will trigger a rejection for duplicate or overlapping services.
Billing Tips
- Ensure the bilateral modifier is explicitly appended to the claim when performing the procedure on both eyes to capture the additional 50% benefit allowed under section J89.
