Level 2 Definition: Level 2 monitoring is defined on as utilizing 'All other monitoring devices with fewer than three skin electrodes, or that record only portions of the monitoring period or do not provide trend analysis. Minimum 12 hours monitoring.' The professional component (G657) covers the physician's work in analyzing and interpreting the collected data and producing a report. It is typically billed in conjunction with the corresponding technical components for recording (G688) and scanning (G689). As per , only one professional component, one technical recording component, and one technical scanning component may be claimed per patient, per recording period.
