A premium for each additional person seen during the same non-elective special visit to the Emergency Department, by an Emergency Department Physician (), for visits that commence Monday to Friday between 17:00 and 24:00. Fee $61.70 (max. 5 (total of first and additional person seen) per time period). Schedule of Benefits Special Visit Premium Table V, Emergency Department by an Emergency Department Physician (). The time of the request to attend and the situation requiring attendance must be documented in the medical record (). Bill with the appropriate A-prefix assessment from the General Listings.
Definition of Emergency Department Physician: A physician working in a hospital emergency department or Hospital Urgent Care Clinic for unscheduled patients. For special visit premium eligibility, the physician must be on-call or requested to attend at a time when they are not otherwise scheduled to work, and must not be at the hospital when the request is made.
