Diagnostic interview and/or counselling with child and/or parent for psychological problem or learning disabilities.
General Rules for Interviews
This service is subject to the rules for Interviews as defined in the Schedule of Benefits. It is not eligible for payment when the information being obtained is part of the history normally included in a consultation or assessment of the patient. The interview must be a booked, separate appointment lasting at least 20 minutes. The service must be rendered personally by the attending physician.
Time Units
Payment is based on time units of ½ hour or major part thereof. The minimum time for one unit is 20 minutes of direct contact with the patient/parent. For a full breakdown of time units, refer to the General Preamble ().
Note:
K008 is claimed using the child's health number. Psychological testing is not an insured service.
