R769 is an add-on service payable to an anaesthetist who performs pressure studies during a pulmonary artery banding procedure (R768). This service provides 6 additional anaesthesia units for each hour spent performing the pressure studies. These units are added to the basic and time units for the primary surgical anaesthesia (R768C) when calculating the total anaesthetic fee.
