Haemorrhoidectomy, with or without sigmoidoscopy or repair of fissure(s) and/or sphincterotomy and/or anal dilation. Per , payment for S247 is only insured when the patient meets one of the following criteria:
• failed a trial of non-surgical therapy
• has Grade III or IV haemorrhoids
• has haemorrhoids with substantial concomitant skin tags.
The '#' prefix indicates that when performed in a hospital or Integrated Community Health Services Centre (ICHSC), the premises, equipment, supplies, and personnel are funded by the facility and cannot be charged to the patient ().
