S518 is for the plastic repair of the bladder neck. This procedure is limited to patients who are children, defined in the Schedule of Benefits as a person 2 years to and including 15 years of age. The corresponding procedure for older patients is S519. As a surgical procedure, it is eligible for assistant and anaesthesia services, with fees calculated based on basic and time units.
When to Use
- Use S518 specifically for plastic repair of the bladder neck in pediatric patients aged 2 to 15 years inclusive.
- Select S518 for elective reconstructive procedures where the patient does not meet the criteria for S519, which is reserved for patients older than 15 years.
