S630 is for the surgical excision of a single hydrocele. This service includes all common elements of insured services (-) and the specific elements of a surgical procedure. Payment for the surgeon (suffix A) is a flat fee. Payment for the surgical assistant (suffix B) and anaesthetist (suffix C) is calculated based on basic units plus time units. Note: When S630 is performed with a hernia repair, use fee code E727 instead.
When to Use
- Use S630 as the primary code for the isolated surgical excision of a single hydrocele when no concurrent hernia repair is performed.
- Use S630 for elective hydrocelectomy cases where the procedure is performed as a standalone surgical event.
