Z114 – Foreign body removal - local anaesthetic

Foreign body removal under local anaesthetic. E542 may be added when performed outside hospital. Z114 and Z115 are eligible for payment for removal of non-biodegradable long-acting subcutaneous medication implants. Wound and ulcer debridement services, Z128, Z129 and Z114 are not eligible for payment in addition to Z187, Z188 or Z189 for the same repair.
All insured services must be documented in appropriate records. The Act requires that the record establish that:
1. an insured service was provided;
2. the service for which the account is submitted is the service that was rendered; and
3. the service was medically necessary.
