Diagnostic urethroscopy involves the endoscopic examination of the urethra to investigate symptoms or abnormalities. This service is for diagnosis only and does not include a biopsy; for urethroscopy with biopsy, see Z618. As a surgical procedure, it is eligible for various add-on premiums, including age-based premiums for patients under 16 (), after-hours premiums for non-elective procedures (E409, ), and the trauma premium (E420, ). The anaesthesia component (Z617C) is calculated with 6 base units plus time units and is also eligible for various anaesthesia-specific extra units for factors like patient age, BMI, and medical condition ().
