When to Use
- Use Z773 when performing direct visualization of the fetus via fetoscopy for diagnostic or therapeutic intervention in a high-risk pregnancy.
- Use Z773 as the primary code when the procedure includes ancillary tasks like amniocentesis, cordocentesis, or fetal blood sampling during the same session.

- Billing Z776 (fetal blood sampling) or Z778 (amniocentesis) in addition to Z773 is a common error, as these are explicitly inclusive in the Z773 fee.
