A mini assessment is rendered when an assessment of a patient for an unrelated non-WSIB problem is performed during the same visit as an assessment of a WSIB related problem for which only a minor assessment (A001) was rendered.

The assessment must be for a problem unrelated to the WSIB claim.

The service must be performed during the same visit as a WSIB-related assessment.

The WSIB component of the visit must be a minor assessment (A001).

Usage limits

A008 is not payable if a different service or a higher level of assessment is claimed for the non-WSIB component.
