E011 – Patient in prone position during surgery - anaesthesia premium

An extra unit premium payable to an anaesthesiologist when the patient is placed in the prone position during a surgical procedure. This fee is paid in addition to the basic and time units of the anaesthesia service.
The patient must be in the prone position during the surgery.
The service must be rendered in conjunction with a surgical procedure requiring anaesthesia.
Usage limits
Payable once per anaesthetic case where the prone position is required.
The amount payable for the anaesthesia service is calculated by adding the number of basic units, time units, and extra units (like E011C), then multiplying the total by the anaesthesiologist unit fee ($15.96).
Time units are calculated as: 1 unit per 15 min (1st hour), 2 units per 15 min (1-1.5 hours), and 3 units per 15 min (after 1.5 hours).
