E018 – Anaesthesia premium - adult aged 80 years and older

An amount is payable for extra units in addition to basic units when an anaesthesiologist administers an anaesthetic to an adult aged 80 years and older.
The anaesthesiologist must be in attendance with the patient
The patient must be 80 years of age or older at the time of the service

General anaesthesia includes all forms of anaesthesia except topical anaesthesia or local infiltration, unless otherwise specifically listed.
Extra units are payable in addition to basic units and time units.
