This fee of $19.40 is claimed in addition to X421 (multislice sequence head MRI) when magnetic resonance spectroscopy of the head is performed concurrently. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic test for measuring biochemical changes in the brain. This fee represents the professional component of the service.
When to Use
- Use E875 when performing magnetic resonance spectroscopy to analyze biochemical brain metabolites in conjunction with a standard X421 head MRI.
- Claim this code when fiber tracking (tractography) is specifically requested and performed during the X421 imaging session to map white matter pathways.
Common Pitfalls
