G366
G366 – Testing of arrhythmia inducibility by acute administration of anti-arrhythmic or adrenergic drugs
OHIP Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures Code — DIAGNOSTIC AND THERAPEUTIC PROCEDURES · Schedule of Benefits
When to Use
- Use G366 when performing pharmacological provocation testing, such as isoproterenol infusion, to assess for inducible arrhythmias during an electrophysiology study.
- Use this code when administering specific anti-arrhythmic agents to test the inducibility of a patient's clinical tachycardia in a controlled laboratory setting.
Common Pitfalls
- Billing G366 in conjunction with G261 or G259 when using isoproterenol will trigger an automatic rejection due to the explicit restriction in the Schedule of Benefits.
- Claiming G366 as a standalone procedure without clear documentation of the pharmacological induction protocol will lead to audit recovery.
Billing Tips
- Ensure the pharmacological induction is clearly distinct from the primary electrophysiology procedure (G261/G259) to justify the separate fee, provided isoproterenol is not the agent used.
